This is Sywyn, her awesome character (one of my favorites of hers :3 ). He was fun to paint, even if the background wanted to kill me in cold blood. I know it could be better...but I did learn a lot more through this experience. I tried really hard to repaint the background as good as it was coming along before the hard drive crash. I'm so sorry if I didn't succeed =/. I'm a little blinded to it now though @_@
Critiques are welcome - I need to keep reference for future works.
Also, I'm sorry if the slight gore doesn't settle. I wanted to show a little of his "job" so to speak...even though I didn't really include a body...you can imagine for yourself what could have happened I guess. XD Sorry Maybe he's approaching a caravan and dispatched some scout further down the trail? Dunno. ^^
I actually like the background better than Sywyn. I love that the trees have snow caught in their bark and the perspective is well done with the fading light. The snow and shadows in the foreground and background look great, no problems there. I love the lighting and color scheme for this picture. Good work!

It's only funny 'til somebody gets hurt. Then it's hilarious.
I absolutely love the story this tells. I can just see it, he's hunted down his prey and the battle took them off the trail where nobody will interfere. I think the imagination is much better than if you did include the victim; it's more exciting. It's like the difference between horror films of the 50's versus today. I'll take suspense of the unknown over a CG monster any day.
Good job! I love it.

I'm the SAME way! I love the suspense! The most fearsome thing in existence is the unknown - and also it's the most curious and intimidating. It was weird, I remember when I painted this, I had blood on his swords because I thought that'd establish his kind of character nicely...only to realize there was no reason for it. So I added the blood on snow as an after-thought,and left the rest for interpretation.
"It's only business..." I can just see him saying that while calmly approaching his disarmed victim. I love and hate Sywyn, which makes me love him more. Weird, but you'd have to read the description of all Sywyn art in =NadezhdaVasile's gallery + his bio, to understand him as a whole. I've also talked with his creator about him, learned more before painting this, and just...wow. You really feel for him,and begin to wish he'd grow a conscious (even without realizing it), and do something that really defies the reputation he's gained. But in your heart you know that he's at the point of no return, and it's sad.
Thanks for the comment; I love it when something provokes imagination, it's really encouraging and it made my day better to read this comment.
He sounds bad ass! This character belongs to *NadezhdaVasile if you want to find more about him. :3 I feel bad for the bugger, no matter how cruel he is.
Oh my gosh, Prince Nuada = Love He's the only reason I watch Hellboy II (I've never seen the first either. XD) I wish he could've lived in the end though.

I think that statue over there is a statement on modern life. The statement is "Well, shit." - Varric, Dragon Age II
